shows how to add a folded listing to a LaTeX document.

The above PDF includes an interactve folded-listing of the AMRITA program used to create it. The listing is generated by a standard-library routine which employs multiple calls to latex::widget. In fact each line of the listing is a separate PDF widget.

In time it is to be hoped that acroread could support such functionality natively, resulting in a much reduced storage overhead and improved response times. If this came to pass, there is no reason why authors of journal papers could not be expected to present actual working code; the rammifications of such a requirement are discussed in:
